the Railyard
Gillette, Wyoming was founded in 1891 with the arrival of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad. The Dodd House Hotel was opened on this spot in 1902. The Goings purchased the Dodd House in 1905. It was since known as The Goings Hotel. Many fixtures including the Elkhorn Room door and windows were reclaimed and repurposed in the extensive remodel in 2016/2017. The Railyard is a homage to the railroad and the history of this city.
